The witness tree
The bokeh spheres were added by stacking negatives under the enlarger and symbolize that invisible stories that we have had to miss. The texture was also created in this way by adding a Paterson texture screen to this stack to abstract the whole slightly more.
Afterwards, this combination of negatives was printed on Foma photo paper using various contrast filters to gain maximum control over the highlights and shadows in the print.
The gathering of trees
In the photo above, an enormous tree surveys a vast landscape; in the image below, trees seem to come together to share their stories.
